THESIS BOOT CAMP SFU

This multi-day boot camp is for SFU graduate students at both the PhD and Masters level, who are currently writing their thesis or dissertation. This will place you on a wait list for returning Boot Campers. Summer , Fall , Spring etc. Thesis Boot Camp will be limited to 30 registrants, on a first come-first served basis for those who have not attended a Thesis Boot Camp in the past. Participants will benefit from the structured time, space, professional advising and peer support of the program. A fifth boot camp is planned for April in Burnaby.

Upcoming Thesis Boot Camp sessions: If spots remain after newcomers have registered, you will be contacted. The Thesis Boot Camp creates a space conducive to productivity by minimizing distractions while offering food, beverages, and writing and research support. You can plan on writing between 5 and 6 hours each of the three days and participate in workshops and group discussions. Writing facilitators, liaison librarians, and the assistant for theses will be on hand to provide assistance at the point of need. The ALPS Award for Outstanding Service is presented to a librarian or team whose outstanding service has made a real difference to students, faculty, or colleagues in British Columbia.

Writing facilitators, librarians, a representative from SFU’s Copyright office and the Assistant for Theses will be available over the course of Thesis Boot Camp to support your progress.

Composition has been approximately two-thirds Masters students and one-third PhD candidates.
